Chapel Fundraising Project
We have been delighted to open our new School Chapel in September 2020 with money generously raised by students, staff and the local catholic community.
It was with sadness we closed the Chapel of St Paul, which had served as our Chapel since 1985, but were able to incorporate some of the artwork, the tabernacle and altar in our new Chapel located off the Plaza- meaning that our Chapel is once more in a central area of the school.
The Nativity Chapel is named after the Sisters of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary who first came to Evington Hall to offer education to children from the local area. These sisters joined with the Sisters of Charity of St Paul to open the Nativity Convent, which in 1977 joined with Corpus Christi Catholic School to become the new St Paul’s.
We have been able to use the stone altar top and consecration stone from the original altar but have incorporated a new designed base for the altar.
Plans are in place for a new set of the Stations of the Cross and four new stained glass windows, which have been the focus of our Advent Term fundraising. We hope to begin these projects in the new year when hopefully some of the Covid restrictions can be lifted.
