These super structures were created by our Year 9 Peer Mentors during their training yesterday- full of qualities needed to be a Super Peer Mentor!

On Thursday and Friday last week, Year 10 took part in our World of Work experience at St. Paul’s and certainly came dressed for the occasion!

Over the course of the two days, Year 10 took part in team building activities; practiced CPR on our Annie dolls to ensure that they have basic first aid training for the workplace; designed a product from inception to production and delivered professional presentations considering finance, logistics and target audiences; learned about sustainability and the importance of sustainable workplaces and many more experiences which provided an opportunity for the students to learn in new and exciting ways.

It was a really enjoyable day for all and the opportunity to begin to develop those workplace skills that will be valuable to build upon as the students reach Year 11 and consider their strengths and talents ready for Year 11 and post 16 study.

It was lovely to see small groups of Year 7’s engaged in reading a variety of plays with Miss Weatherhog in the library this morning.

Over the half term holidays a group of students and staff renovated and planted up Our Lady’s garden.
It is open or a quiet sit down and reflection for both staff  and students.
And we love our recycled sari bunting too!

Mrs Conaghan was delighted to award the following students in 8S for their amazing work in RE:

Principals Pen
Joel for his wonderful pilgrimage project where he took the reader on a wonderful journey
Lucy for her imaginative pilgrimage project work and always striving to do her best
Alfie for his creative approach to his pilgrimage project, really putting his all into his work.

RE Badges
Khadel, Darcey, Dhara and Brendan for their great work throughout the year and on most recent work on pilgrimage project.

Congratulations to you all and thank you to Mrs O’Riley for the nominations.

Jemima in Year 9 decided that she wanted to shave her head for her birthday and donate her beautiful long locks to the Little Princess Trust.

She has currently raised over £1,400 and rising.  If you wish to donate to Cancer Research and support Jemima her fundraising page is https://gofund.me/646ff99e

Mrs Conaghan was delighted to award Jemima a Principal’s Pen for her achievement – well done Jemima!

Congratulations to the following for their PE awards:

Astar – Despite not being able to practically participate in everything, she gives everything a go. When given a separate task, she is able to answer questions that give valuable feedback on players and is beginning to be able to adapt games/skills she notices needs improving through careful evaluation.

Eliana – Always gets on with the task without complaining, extremely good defender in Netball. Has started to emerge with confidence in the group.

Simran – Always on time, behaviour exceptional, always willing to learn and give things a go that are difficult, willing to offer answers to questions no one else will.

Another lovely day for Mrs Conaghan to meet and award some badges to our Year 7 students:

Principal’s Pen
Riley – For making a really positive start back after lockdown & home learning.  Riley really liked being at home and was worried about coming back but has settled and is trying his best.

Commendation Badges
Eloise, Sam, Amanpreet, Kieran & Abigail for their consistent effort and achievement through challenging circumstances.  Remaining positive and always trying their best!

Well done to you all!
