The St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy. On behalf of the Trust, the admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body.
Year 7 Applications
An application should be made to the relevant Local Authority by completing the LA Common Application Form and following instructions on the LA website. Nb. For parents who live in the County, when selecting your preference, you will need to click into the Advanced Search option and change the Local Authority from Leicestershire to Leicester. Under the school name tab, if you start typing Saint Pauls and hit search it will bring up the school, please also change the parameters to 10 miles +
Parents whose children have not been offered a place at a school in the normal admissions round, for a year 7 application, will be added to the schools’ waiting list unless they have been offered a place at a higher preference school. The waiting list will remain open until the end of the academic application year.
If a parent wishes their child to remain on the waiting list, they must re-apply each academic year.
In-Year Applications
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made to the relevant Local Authority by completing the LA Common Application Form and following instructions on the LA website (please see note above regarding those who live in the County).

Children of Faith
If applying for a place on faith grounds, whether a Year 7 or In Year application, you will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form and return this with acceptable documentary evidence e.g. a Baptism certificate to Mrs Conaghan, Principal; this will enable us to rank your application on a faith basis.
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements will be applied.
Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.
Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.
You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.
Should you wish to speak to someone at the school prior to making an application, please telephone Mrs S Conaghan at the school.
